Denver’s Premium Paint Correction Experts

Bring out the gloss and clarity from your paint with paint correction and polishing

What Is Paint Correction and What Does It Do?

The goal with paint correction (also referred to as polishing or buffing) is  to remove swirls, scratches, water spots, and other imperfections from your vehicle’s paint to bring out maximum gloss and clarity. When done right, your car, truck, or van will look better than the day you bought it. A very popular form of protection after getting this service done is a ceramic coating for years of protection.

This is done through machine polishing with a combination of pads and compounds to safely refine the paint’s surface. The goal is to remove defects but also preserve as much of the clear coat as possible.

Why is this important? Polishing too aggressively diminishes more clear coat than you need to or worse, burns through the clear coat which would require a repaint. That’s why experience matters. We’ve seen it far too many times of a car being damaged or put in a worse condition by someone improperly using a polisher. We have the tools and experience to do the job right the first time.

We assess your car’s paint condition and tailor our methods to ensure the best results while maintaining the integrity of the finish. Whether it’s your daily driver or a Garage-queen, we have the skill and expertise to make it shine like new.

The Paint Correction Process

We deliver amazing results to our customers because we create a specific system we follow when it comes to polishing the paint. This isn’t like a car wash lot where we get your car in-and-out as fast as possible. For us, every step of the process plays a part in the overall results.

1. Wash and Dry the Vehicle: We start with a deep clean, beginning with the wheels and tires before moving on to a full exterior wash. This removes road grime, dirt, and debris, ensuring no contaminants interfere with the polishing process. A proper wash is the foundation for achieving the best possible results.

2. Clay Bar and Iron Decontamination: After washing, we remove any stubborn contaminants that are bonded to the paint. A clay bar lifts debris that washing alone can’t remove, while an iron decontamination solution dissolves embedded iron particles. This step ensures a perfectly smooth surface, allowing for optimal polishing.

3. Paint Inspection and Test Spot: Once the surface is clean, we carefully assess the condition of the paint. Using a paint thickness gauge, we measure the clear coat’s health to determine the safest and most effective approach. A test spot is performed to figure out the most ideal polishing setup.

4. Machine Polishing for a Flawless Finish: This is the most intricate and time-intensive step. Using a machine polisher, we polish and remove swirls, scratches, and imperfections from the paint. Every vehicle is treated according to its condition and your goals—whether you’re looking for a complete restoration or simply enhancing the finish.

5. Protecting the Paint: After polishing, we lock in the results with a high-quality protective solution. You can choose between a paint sealant, which lasts up to six months or ceramic coating that provides years of protection (the coating is at an additional price).

6. Final Touch-Ups: To complete the process, we take care of the finer details—dressing the tires, cleaning the glass, and wiping down door jambs. These finishing touches ensure your vehicle looks its absolute best.

We follow this same system whether you're restoring an older vehicle or maintaining a new one.

And we’re mobile so we come out to your home or workplace to get the job done! We service Denver and surrounding areas like Castle Rock, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Englewood, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Roxborough Park, Columbine, Greenwood Village, Ken Caryl, Lakewood, Aurora, Foxfield, Lakewood, Glendale, Arvada, Dakota Ridge, Parker and more!

Different Pads, Polishers, and Compounds To Get The Job Done

There’s no one solution to polish your paint back to like-new condition. That’s why we carry a wide range of tools to get the job done. These are the main tools we use to remove the swirls from the paint:

The polishers
The polisher is the backbone of the entire process. They come in all shapes and sizes like 1", 3”, 5” and more. They also come in different styles of polishers like a rotary, dual action, and forced rotation.

Each one serves a specific purpose based on the vehicle we’re working on, the type of panel, or the type of clear coat that it is. On larger areas like the hood, you’d go for a larger throw machine to cut through the swirls faster. On a tight area like the bumper, you’d go with a smaller 3” polisher.

The pads
Every brand makes their own style of pad. The pad is what goes on the polisher that allows us to cut and polish your paint. The most aggressive style of pad would be a wool pad and that’s usually paired with a rotary polisher.

This is a perfect combination when you really need to remove heavy swirls from the paint but it’s only used when needed. You also have microfiber cutting and polishing and foam cutting and polishing pads. Some pads work better with certain cars based on the clear coat. Before we start, we perform several test spots with different pad and compound combinations to figure out what’s going to get us the results.

The compounds
Just like the pads and polishers, there’s also a wide variety of compounds and polishes. There’s compounds that have a much more aggressive cut to remove those deep swirls. So if you really needed to pull out heavy swirls from your paint, you could use the rotary polisher, paired with a wool paid, paired with an aggressive cutting compound.

And to the far extreme, you have very fine polishes that have no cutting ability. At this point, you’re in the final polishing steps and the goal is to help refine the paint so you can really bring out the maximum gloss and clarity.
